Engines

This section describes Apical's primary engines spanning software libraries, IP cores and FPGA cores. Each engine provides a defined image processing function and can be used individually in an imaging application, or in combination with others.

These products form the basis for complete product feature Systems.

iridix

iridix

iridix is Apical's Dynamic Range Control Engine based on unique pixel-by-pixel algorithms. It enables optimal adaptation of contrast, colour and fine detail between any source imagery and display capability.

sinter

sinter

sinter is an intra-frame Noise Reduction module which smoothes noise in areas where it is visible without loss of texture detail or blurring of edges. It acts both on sensor noise and as a compression artifact deblocking filter.

temper

temper

temper is a motion-compensated 3D Noise Reduction module which effectively reduces random noise in video sequences by averaging over successive frames.

Imaging Pipelines

Imaging Pipelines

These are complete camera pipelines from raw sensor input to standard RGB or YUV output based on iridix
